袁建華，男，湖南益陽人，1983年畢業於湖南吉首大學英語系，1992年畢業於上海師範大學英語系，獲研究生學歷和英語語言文學碩士學位。廣東金融學院保險系保險學教授，廣東金融學院保險研究所所長，廣州市重大行政決策論證專家，廣東省政府、廣州市政府採購項目評審專家，廣東省保險行業協會、保險糾紛調解處置專業委員會調解員，廣東珠海仲裁委員會仲裁員。獲保險代理人資格證書。1992年，在中國保險管理幹部學院任教，擔任國際保險教研室主任職務。1995年10月，經過嚴格的選拔考試，獲得由中國人民保險公司公派到英國倫敦學習財產保險理論與實務的機會，通過刻苦學習，獲General Insurnce and Reinsurance證書。回國后，從事財產保險理論與實務的教學與研究工作。2002年7月，調入廣東金融學院保險系。主講「合同法與保險」(Contract Law and Insurance)、「海上保險」、「海洋貨物運輸保險」(雙語)、「保險專業英語」、「保險學原理」等課程。近年來，在《改革》、《暨南學報》(哲學與社會科學版)、《保險研究》、《現代財經》、《廣東金融學院學報》《金融經濟學研究》)、《上海保險》、《中國保險》、《中國保險報》等國內學術期刊上發表論文和譯文40余篇。編寫專業教材5本，譯著1本。主持廣東省科技廳課題、廣州市社科規劃課題、廣東省教育廳人文社科規劃課題各1項、廣東金融學院課題共3項，參與國家社科基金項目和教育部社科規劃課題(均為第一參與人)共3項。
