《社會醫學概要》（The Essentials of Social Medicine）是以學科主題為引領的新醫科學科通識英語教材，適合高等醫科院校的本科生、相應英語程度的學生及醫學相關的專業人員使用。教材九章的學科內容包括社會醫學概述、健康的社會經濟因素、中國的衛生體系與政策、社會相關疾病的流行病學與預防、脆弱人群與健康公平、醫學倫理與職業精神、社區醫學與公共衛生干預、全球化和健康、社會醫學研究方法等，以讀寫譯視聽一體化的形式展開教學。本書以學科體係為核心，把學科專業內容融入醫科英語教學中，讓醫科英語教學融入學生專業知識體系中，滿足不同學科專業學生的學習需求並幫助他們實現學習目標，使英語教學促進學科素養得到有效落實。
