《生物專業英語》第一版自2011年8月出版以來，被多所高等院校用作生物專業英語主講教材，廣受好評。新版入選石油和化工行業「十四五」規劃教材，根據用書高校學生反饋建議並針對生物學領域最新發展趨勢，對部分內容進行小幅修訂，同時在化工教育網上增加了電子課件。新版遵循第一版的原則和整體構架，具有以下特點：
（1）專業英語內容選材豐富、知識點較新，各章節內容比例適當、難易程度適中；
（2）在講解專業英語辭彙時注重講解它們的準確含義及其具體的使用語境；
（3）補充閱讀材料的選取多以各學科最新的研究進展或報道為主；
（4）每章起始設置中文導讀，每節重點疑難句子的中文翻譯；
（5）課後習題多樣化。
