本書對接中國英語能力等級量表和歐洲共同語言參考標準，旨在提高學生英語核心素養和雅思聽力水平。在深入研究歷年雅思聽力真題的基礎上，全書將雅思聽力考點科學地分為16個主題，全方位覆蓋常考話題及題型。教材內容安排由易到難、循序漸進，注重辭彙與語法基礎積累，強調語言能力與應試技巧培養。前8個單元的難度控制在雅思聽力成績5.5分左右，后8個單元的難度控制在雅思聽力成績6.5分左右。
