英語行文，突出能力培養，強化實際應用，適應英語專業英語授課教學實際。
立足英漢互譯，旨在幫助學生學習和掌握英、漢兩種語言的差異及英漢互譯的基本理論與翻譯技巧。以往的翻譯教材往往偏重培養學生英譯漢的能力，對漢譯英的能力沒有強調和重視。
實用性強，用例新又頗具典型，理論言之有理，持之有據，邏輯嚴密，結構緊湊。譯例豐富鮮活，選材廣泛，深入淺出，練習較多，能滿足翻譯教學與自學譯例需要。
具有多功能性，可以作為系統學習翻譯的教科書，也可以作為工具書使用。適合廣大英語專業師生、英語自學人員、翻譯工作者、愛好者使用。
作者介紹
編者:熊俊
熊俊，女，教授，1972年11月出生於湖北省麻城市。湖北工程學院翻譯研究中心主任、外國語學院英語系主任、教學督導組長，中國翻譯認知研究會常務理事，中國先秦史學會國學雙語研究會常務理事，中國翻譯協會專家會員．湖北省翻譯協會理事，武漢翻譯協會常務理事。美國期刊International Journal of Language and Linguistics（IJLL）編委，澳大利亞季刊Journal of Sociology編委。主要講授英漢翻譯、翻譯批評與賞析、高級翻譯實踐等課程。
1996年6月畢業於武漢工業大學（現武漢理工大學）外語系，獲英語語言文學學士學位：2010年獲華中師範大學英語語言文學碩士學位。2014年12月晉陞為教授。主要研究方向為翻譯理論與實踐。發表論文30余篇，英文專著l部，主編、參編翻譯教材5部，主持並完成省校級科研項目8項。曾先後應邀出席第十八屆世界翻譯大會（中國上海2008）、第六屆亞洲翻譯家論壇（中國澳門2010）、國際翻譯與跨文化交流大會（澳大利亞2011）、第七屆亞洲翻譯家論壇（馬來西亞2013）、第二十屆世界翻譯大會（德國2014）、第五屆亞太翻譯與跨文化研究論壇（美國2016）交流並宣讀論文（相關論文均被收入會後公開出版的論文集）。多次擔任高水平翻譯學術會議分論壇主持人或評議人或作總結髮言。近年翻譯材料60余萬字。
獲頒中國先秦史學會國學雙語研究會「特別貢獻獎」、湖北省「十佳中青年翻譯學者」、「湖北省譯協、武漢譯協2010—2012年優秀理事」稱號，8次獲湖北省翻譯協會學術成果獎（5個「二等獎」、3個「三等獎」），5次獲「湖北省優秀學士學位論文（指導教師）」稱號。「第二屆全國口譯大賽（英語）」優秀指導教師獎．「第四屆海峽兩岸口譯大賽大陸賽區湖北分賽區選拔賽」三等獎（指導教師），第二十五屆湖北省翻譯大賽英語專業A組筆譯組特等獎「優秀指導教師」和「優秀組織工作者」。曾多次獲校級「教學成果獎」、「教學優秀獎」、「年度考核優秀獎」、「專業技術考核優秀獎」、「優秀共產黨員」、「三育人」先進個人、「優秀學士學位論文（指導教師）」、「優秀班主任」、「優秀實習指導教師」、「優秀女教職工」等獎勵。
