作者介紹

    托克維爾(1805-1859),法國歷史學家、政治家、政治思想家、政治社會學奠基人。主要代表作有《論美國的民主》《舊制度與大革命》。出身貴族世家。前期熱心於政治,1838年出任眾議院議員,1848年二月革命后參與制訂第二共和國憲法,1849年一度出任外交部長。1851年路易·波拿巴建立第二帝國,托克維爾因反對他稱帝而被捕,獲釋后對政治日益失望,從政治舞台上逐漸淡出。
