張元動主編的《奧陶紀生物大輻射與寒武紀生命大爆發之間的關聯(國際地學計劃IGCP653項目2017年國際會議論文摘要和短篇論文集英文版)(精)》是國際地學計劃IGCP 653項目(題目:奧陶紀生物大輻射事件的啟動過程,2016-2020)2017年度國際會議(湖北宜昌)的論文摘要和短篇論文集。IGCP 653項目主要開展針對奧陶紀生物大輻射事件啟動過程和觸發機制的國際合作研究與交流活動。奧陶紀生物大輻射是顯生宙以來的一次重大生物輻射事件,該事件徹底改變了寒武紀初形成的海洋生物群落格局和食物網結構,首次建立了現代的、具有高度複雜性的海洋生物群落結構和穩定的海洋生態系統。儘管世界各國學者對該事件的規模、影響和重要性已有初步共識,但對其啟動過程和觸發機制所知甚少。為此,IGCP 653項目集結全球相關的古生物學、沉積學、地層學、地球化學、氣候模型、古海洋學、古氣候學等學科的國際專家學者,共同探討該重大生物環境事件的啟動機制和早期過程。
