    朱位秋論文選集編委會編的《朱位秋論文選集(英文版)(精)》精選了朱位秋先生的近四十篇代表性論文,所涉及的研究歷程主要分為如下兩個階段。
    二十世紀八十年代,朱先生及其合作者將標量隨機場的局部平均理論推廣于矢量隨機場,提出了基於矢量隨機場局部平均的隨機有限元法;提出將隨機載荷作用下結構疲勞破壞看成疲勞累積損傷的首次穿越問題和隨機載荷作用下的疲勞裂紋尺寸的首次穿越問題,得到隨機載荷作用下結構的可靠性和疲勞壽命的概率密度等。
    二十世紀八十年代至今,朱先生及其合作者創造性地將多自由度非線性隨機系統由拉格朗日體系轉化為哈密頓體系,利用哈密頓系統的可積性和共振性,將系統分為不可積、完全可積非共振、完全可積共振、部分可積非共振、部分可積共振五類,相應地得到了五類非線性隨機系統的精確平穩解(其中四類是在世界上首次得到的非能量等分解),並利用該精確平穩解和多種等效準則得到了五類非線性隨機系統的等效非線性系統法;提出並發展了多種隨機激勵(如高斯白雜訊、寬頻雜訊、有界雜訊等)下具有滯遲、時滯和含分數階導數阻尼等的多自由度強非線性系統的隨機平均法,並用於系統的隨機響應、隨機穩定性、可靠性等研究;提出並發展了分別以響應最小、穩定性裕度最大、可靠度最大、平均壽命最長和給定平穩概率密度為目標的非線性隨機最優控制設計方法,進一步發展了解決部分可觀測與不確定,控制力具有時滯、有界和不能完全執行最優控制律等情況下的多自由度強非線性隨機振動系統的最優控制理論方法。這些研究構成了一個較為完整的非線性隨機振動系統動力學與控制理論體系,為解決科學與工程中廣泛存在且十分困難的強非線性隨機振動系統的動力學與控制問題提供了一整套嶄新而有效的理論方法。
    上述部分研究成果體現在為美國《應用力學雜誌》創刊五十周年和美國《應用力學評論》撰寫的四篇特邀綜述以及在科學出版社出版的兩部學術專著中。部分研究成果曾獲得2002年度國家自然科學獎二等獎。
    本論文集較為系統地匯總了朱位秋先生長期從事隨機動力學與控制研究過程中所形成的學術思想和取得的學術成果。
