    本次修訂以原教材為藍本，根據使用原教材的部分師生的反饋意見，對教材的部分內容進行了刪減。刪除了內容偏向闡述抽象理論為主的章節；保留了以介紹技術技能知識為主的內容部分。為了適應現代製造技術發展的需求，增補了3D列印技術和互聯網+及中國製造2025等內容。在本次修訂過程中，還增加了專業英語語法及相關辭彙(構詞法)，以便學生學習。
