張桃紅、姚琳、楊炳儒編著的《電腦基礎與實踐（英文版）》是創新方法工作專項項目「科學思維、科學方法在高等學校教學創新中的應用與實踐——KM教學法的研究與實踐」的主要研究成果之一。
全書共分兩篇：第一篇為理論篇，包括Computer Basics and Digitization, Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Operating System, Networks, and Computer Careers and Ethics; 第二篇為實踐篇，包括：Microsoft Word 2010, Microsoft Excel 2010, and Microsoft PowerPoint 2010。
本書開篇給出理論知識的邏輯結構圖，每章均有本章的知識邏輯結構圖，相關知識點附有KM圖，在教學上實現「薄—厚—薄」的教學迴路，力圖在內容、闡述等方面形成新的模式。
